Mãos de Fada 2
Vintage magazine pages, painted wood on canvas

A collection of vintage, deconstructed magazine pages arranged on canvas with painted wooden strips. The work is mounted behind conservation glass within a dark brown, wooden frame.
Found at a flea market in Portugal, these early 1950’s embroidery pattern magazines have been sliced into small fragments and laid out to form a vibrant, geometric pattern. Typical of mid-century design, the hand-drawn images evoke a sense of nostalgia.
Details of each individual piece can be seen at close range along with the colours and texture of the paper.
